Senior Celebration
In the next few weeks of school the sponsors will conduct a vote among the senior class for their opinions.
Senior sponsors Evelyn Kattes and Cindy Welch approached the board of Trustees in July with a proposal for a venue change to Main event in the metroplex.
“Our main reason for changing the venue was the lack of time that parents will have to decorate because the early graduation date won’t be accompanied by a work day on Friday,” Cindy Welch said.
This means parent will have to decorate and be away from any family coming for the graduation on that Saturday.
“I would not feel safe putting my senior on a bus at those late hours,” Sarah Sant said.
With all the recent tragedies on charter buses parents are concerned.
“ I would support whatever the graduating seniors what to do,” Johanna Hicks said.
The cost wont be much more for Main Event than it would be to hold it in the cafeteria at SSHS. Fundraisers have already been started.
In the past, the event has been held in the cafeteria and gym of the high school. Moving it to as 60thouseand sq. ft. facility out of the county has posed some questions.
“I’m all for it! It will be our last time to bond,” Senior, Josh Falls Said.
In many ways the senior class is torn between the idea and the tradition.
“Hopefully, the whole class and their parents will get behind it to make it the best Celebration ever, whichever location is selected,” Cindy Welch said.

Re: Senior Celebration
i know i know. but, like always we will make it through this. i am not having any issues, because i am not dating, talking to, secretly seeing, friends-with-benefitesing with anyone this year. i do not have time, and if there is anyone they would have to be okay with never seeing me. so you are my main priority, closely following newspaper/BPA/school. i WILL not let anything bad go down.
